Original lyrics

Notes
The ballad reports of the mysterious assasination of Juan Borgia, Duque de Gandia, son of the pope Alejandro VI. The romance appears in an old publications of Timoneda in 1573, Mendaqo in 1588, or Juan Vicente Franco in 1607. Although the Sephardic texts are fragments, they are a vivid testimony of the ballad that was not conserved by the oral tradition on the Iberian peninsula. The lyrics is from the collection Menendez-Pidal by Armistead et.al.
